Project Flowchar

Exciting week at Carbon 2023 in Mexico!

In July we had a great opportunity to demonstrate and consult our work with the best specialists in the field of carbon research at the World Conference on Carbon 2023.

Our FlowChar team leader, Agnieszka Korus, arrived at Cancun, Mexico, to present our results with an oral presentation “Dual 2D-NLDFT model of CO2 & O2 adsorption for a detailed understanding of micropore development in biochar during two-stage gasification” and a poster titled “The effect of leaching pre-treatment on the electrochemical properties of activated carbon and biochar electrodes for flow capacitive deionisation”.

She also attended the satellite symposium Beyond Adsorption III dedicated to new emerging applications of porous carbons and the challenging science behind it. There, besides the main presentations (ours on “Residual char from biomass gasification as the flow-electrode for water desalination”), during the round table discussions, we have got valuable insight on the most current issues and trends regarding carbon characterisation and utilisation.

We came back full of new ideas and plans how to advance our research.

We hope for all our future conferences to be as fruitful.
