We are so pleased to inform you that all the parts of the FCDI ensemble are now at our lab at the Silesian University of Technology, and we are ready to perform the preliminary tests! Read more about our experimental stand for water desalination.
The heart of the test stand – the membrane module for water deionisation – has been created by the combined efforts of FlowChar members and the FCDI specialist team from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology.
The head of the Wrocław team and the FlowChar Advisory Member, Prof. Marek Bryjak, has kindly agreed to consult the development of the module, while his colleague, Dr Anna Siekierka, one of the leading specialists on the capacitive deionisation, together with our FlowChar expert on electrochemistry, Dr Hanna Jaroszek, designed, created and pieced together the end plates, flow channels and electrodes of the module.
Also, special thanks go to our colleague, Dr Sławomir Sładek, for running the CFD simulations of the electrode flow within the channels. This work helped us a lot in selecting the optimal geometry of the reactor.
With such professional teams working on the module, we are optimistic about the experiments that lay ahead.
Now, we are starting with the leakage tests – keep your finger tightly crossed!
